The Bidwell Bump™ 35th Anniversary
The Bidwell Bump™ was first held in August 1976. It was a simple 'home
grown' race announced in the "Clunker Craziness" flyer and attracted
twelve participants, ten men and two women.
2011 marks the 35th
Anniversary for this race and looks to be the
best and largest yet!
Held in Upper
Bidwell Park
located in Chico, CA, the event offers
Cross Country ("XC") races for Pro & Expert Classes, a Sport
(Intermediate) short course, and a Novice Course for those new to
competitive mountain bike racing.
SAVEMART All-Mountain
Challenge
Pro and Expert racers are invited to
participate in the second running of the SAVEMART All
Mountain
Challenge
competition. Pro and Expert Class riders times in the XC race and
a special
stage SuperD held in the afternoon are combined to determine the
winners.
This event
showcases the best of what Upper Park has to offer, testing riders and
their
bikes with the technical trail riding of The Bidwell Bump course and
the
awesome volcanic single-track descent of the SuperD course laid out on
the South side of the canyon.
Presented by our local Chico Savemart,
this
year's
AMC
podium
finishers will be awarded a cash purse as
follows:

POINTS SYSTEM FOR 2011
ALL-MOUNTAIN
In the spirit of competition, we'll be using a NEW Points System to
determine our All-Mountain World Champions. A points tie will default
to the riders DH finish position.
